Jane Dowd is the Chief Learning Officer of NorthShore University HealthSystem (formerly known as Evanston Northwestern Healthcare), an integrated, academic healthcare system comprised of four hospitals, and 75 physician group practices, based in Evanston, Illinois. She has over twenty years of experience in the field of learning and development and a Masters degree in Education from Northwestern University. She has worked for the corporate university of a Fortune 500 corporation, in consulting, and for the last seven years has been leading the Learning & Development function for NorthShore.

Recently Jane received the Chief Learning Officer magazine Bronze Award for Leading Business Change for her role in leading a large-scale training initiative to transition over 8,000 healthcare providers to a new electronic health record. She also recently received a 1st place Corporate University Best In Class (CUBIC) Award for Most Innovative Industry Resource for her shared leadership role in founding a healthcare e-learning collaborative called HospitalU.

John Drake is the Director of the Learning Strategies Department in Naval Service Training Command. Mr. Drake serves as the Command Learning Officer and as the behavioral education expert and advisor for Naval Service Training Command and the Naval Education Training Command claimancy. His work includes educational research by benchmarking new and innovative solutions to ensure sailors receive high quality training, which yields enhanced performance. Prior to his current position, Mr. Drake served as the Strategic Management Officer for Naval Service Training Command Training. In that position, he served as the principal expert on the development and execution of long-range corporate strategy for Navy accessions training.

Prior to joining the Navy, Mr. Drake was an Experienced Manager for Accenture Consulting in the Strategic Services Group. In that role, Mr. Drake collaborated with clients on creating and implementing innovative strategies that enable high performance.

Mr. Drake received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Illinois in 1989, a Master of Science degree in Manufacturing Systems Engineering from Stanford University in 1991, and a Master of Management degree (MBA) from Kellogg Graduate School of Management in 1997.

Diane Ehrlich (Ph.D., University of Iowa), is the Chair of the Educational Leadership and Development department. Diane teaches courses in the Human Resource Development program as well as coordinating the Leadership in Higher Education track of the Educational Leadership program.

Dr. Ehrlich holds a doctorate in English Education from University of Iowa with a cognate area in instructional design and computer-based training, an M.A. in English from Northwestern University and a B.A. in English and History from University of Illinois, Champaign. Diane has taught courses in Instructional Design, Consulting, International Training, Human Relations, Foundations of Educational Leadership and Organizational Studies and supervises the Practicum in HRD and Educational Leadership.

Dr. Ehrlich has published articles on educational leadership, instructional design, interactive learning, leadership development and higher education leadership. She has also made numerous national and international presentations in these areas. She is currently serving as a member of the executive board for the International Council for Innovation in Higher Education.
