Karen Hyder has been teaching people to use technology since 1991. As a trainer for Logical Operations (now Element K) she delivered end-user software courses in face-to-face sessions. In 1994, she began teaching other trainers how to engage learners effectively and, in that role, has helped hundreds of trainers polish their skills earn Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT) and CompTIA Certified Technical Trainer (CTT+) certifications.
Karen began using Synchronous software tools (like WebEx) in 1999 offering train-the-trainer and instructional design programs for Synchronous online delivery. In addition to that work, Karen has also served as the Online Forums Moderator and Speaker Coach for The eLearning Guild for the past 5 years. She supports trainers and subject-matter-experts who want to deliver their content using Synchronous online tools.
She is a founding member of CompTIA’s CTT+ advisory Committee and has been instrumental in developing and promoting the Certified Technical Trainer Virtual Trainer program.
Karen makes her home in rural New York state.

Jim is responsible for leveraging existing and emerging technologies to deliver and enable workplace learning solutions in the U.S. foodservice industry, which is composed of 945,000 restaurant and foodservice outlets staffed by a workforce of 13.1 million people. He works in a collaborative role with most departments in the NRA Solutions' Operations division and is researching the topic and technologies of “Learning 2.0” with particular attention to knowledge networking communities and platforms in the workplace. Jim graduated with a Ph.D. degree in Food Science from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2001. He previously earned a B.S. degree in Food Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1990. Jim has been a member of ASTD since 1999 and currently serves on the Program Advisory Committee for the 2008-2009 TechKnowledge® Conference & Exposition. Prior to joining Fort Hill Company, Andy was the Chief Executive Officer of Vital Home Services. Andy also served as the Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel of AmeriStar Technologies, Inc., a technology firm ranked one of the country’s leading network integration and systems solutions providers. Andy is admitted to the Bar of the State of Delaware, and spent the early part of his career as an attorney focused on corporate and complex transactions. He is a graduate of the University of Delaware and graduated Phi Kappa Phi with honors from the Widener University School of Law, where he currently serves on the school’s Board of Overseers.
